The science behind PRP for hair

Platelets contain growth factors — proteins that signal tissue repair and regeneration. When concentrated PRP is injected into the scalp, those growth factors stimulate hair follicles that are in a resting or weakened state, promote new blood vessel formation around the follicle, and create a healthier environment for hair growth.

Research — What the Evidence Shows PRP for hair restoration has a growing and consistent evidence base. The mechanism is well-established: platelet growth factors (PDGF, VEGF, IGF-1, KGF) stimulate follicular stem cells in the dermal papilla, promote the transition of follicles from the telogen (resting) phase to the anagen (active growth) phase, and support new blood vessel formation around the follicle base. The result is improved follicular health, increased hair shaft diameter, and greater hair density in areas with existing follicles.
