Bladder & Bowel — Prostate & Male Urinary Health
A weakening stream, getting up through the night, urgency, or leaking after prostate surgery — these urinary changes are common in men and are too often shrugged off as inevitable. They aren't. Whether it's the pelvic-floor and bladder side of an enlarging prostate, or recovering continence and erections after prostate treatment, there is a real, structured plan — and it starts with an honest assessment.
What It Is
As men age, the prostate commonly enlarges (benign prostatic hyperplasia), which can obstruct and irritate the bladder — producing a weaker stream, hesitancy, dribbling, urgency, frequency, and waking at night to urinate. The pelvic-floor muscles that support male continence also weaken over time, just as they do in women.
After prostate surgery or radiation, two things commonly need rebuilding: urinary continence and erectile function. Both come back faster and further with an active pelvic-floor and circulation plan than with waiting alone — and that rehabilitation is an area where our tools fit well.
Some urinary symptoms need a physician's work-up first — we always make sure that has happened, because the point is to treat the right thing. What we add is the pelvic-floor strengthening and circulation-focused recovery that men are rarely offered.
The Approach
EMSELLA® — Male Pelvic Floor Strengthening
Men have a pelvic floor too, and it is central to urinary control — especially after prostate surgery. Seated fully clothed on the EMSELLA® chair, focused electromagnetic energy drives thousands of deep pelvic-floor contractions, rebuilding the strength and coordination that support continence.
Circulation & Erectile Recovery
After prostate treatment, erections depend on rebuilding healthy blood flow to the tissue. Regenerative options — focused shockwave (GAINSwave®) and P-Shot® PRP — work on exactly that, and are commonly used as part of post-prostatectomy recovery. Shannon will set realistic expectations for your specific situation.
Health Teaching & Bladder Retraining
Fluid timing, bladder-retraining techniques, and the daily habits that ease urgency and nighttime waking — the practical continence coaching that makes the in-clinic work hold.
